Gizzi gets a Butterfly Peacock Bass

Amazon angler Dave Gizzi gets blasted by a beautiful Butterfly Peacock Bass while ‘chopping some wood’ – ripping a big woodchopper-type topwater lure!

Dave and I were fishing with guide Chuolu Bueno working the side of big sandy island up north along the Rio Negro on our way to the fabled big peacock bass waters of Santa Isabel. Butterfly Peacock Bass are the small cousins of the big Speckled Peacock Bass but they are every bit as aggressive and make up for their lack of size with their sheer colorful beauty and the same attitude!
